Getting started
New to SpiralHosts?
Use the contact form and tell us what you need — service type, location, and any requirements. For game servers include your expected player count and mod list. We'll reply with options and a quote, usually within a few hours.
VPS and game servers are typically provisioned within a few hours of payment confirmation. Dedicated servers take 24–72 hours depending on configuration. Colocation is scheduled at mutual convenience. If you're in a hurry, mention it — we'll do our best to expedite.
It depends on the service. VPS hosting gives you full root access — basic Linux familiarity helps a lot. Game servers use Pterodactyl panel, which is beginner-friendly. Dedicated servers and colocation are more technical, but our team is hands-on and can help you get set up. Ask if you're unsure — we don't gatekeep.
Our primary datacenter is in Albany, NY. This gives us low latency to the Northeast US and good connectivity to the rest of the US East Coast. Chicago is in planning for future expansion. Colocation customers are in the same Albany, NY facility.
Billing & plans
Billing & plans
All services are billed monthly through our billing portal. Invoices are generated at the start of your billing cycle. You can manage payment methods, view invoices, and cancel services directly from the portal.
No long-term contracts — all services are month-to-month. Cancel anytime from the billing portal and you won't be charged the following cycle. If you need a custom annual pricing arrangement, reach out and we can discuss it.
Yes. VPS and game server plans can be upgraded at any time — your data stays in place. Downgrades are handled on your next billing cycle. For dedicated server configuration changes, contact support and we'll work out a transition plan.
We don't offer refunds for time already used, but if you're unsatisfied within the first few days of a new service, reach out and we'll work something out. We'd rather fix a problem than lose a customer.
VPS hosting
VPS hosting
Any OS that runs on KVM. We offer common Linux distros (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, Fedora) out of the box, and can mount a custom ISO on request. Windows Server is possible on larger plans — ask us about licensing.
Unmetered — you get a full 1 Gbps copper uplink with no monthly transfer caps. We don't throttle or shape traffic under normal conditions. If your usage is consistently saturating the port or causing network impact, we'll reach out before taking any action.
Budget plans use shared vCPUs — great for lightweight workloads, bots, and low-traffic sites. Standard plans share resources more fairly and handle most web apps, game servers, and general use. Performance plans get dedicated CPU cores — consistent, predictable throughput with no noisy neighbors. All tiers get the same network and DDoS protection.
Yes — Cosmic Guard DDoS mitigation is included on all VPS plans at no extra charge. Coverage handles most volumetric attack types. Extremely targeted or sustained attacks may require a configuration adjustment — contact support if you're under active attack.
Game servers
Game servers
Yes. Include your modpack or mod list, expected player count, and how often you update when requesting a quote — we'll spec the right plan. For very large modpacks (e.g. heavy Forge packs), we'll recommend a Performance VPS over a shared game server plan for better JVM headroom.
We host Minecraft (Paper/Purpur/Forge/Fabric), FiveM, Rust, Garry's Mod, ARK: Survival Evolved/Ascended, and Valheim. Custom game server requests are welcome — if it runs on Linux, we can likely host it. See all supported games.
Pterodactyl is the open-source game server management panel we use. It gives you a real-time console, file manager, SFTP access, backup management, startup configuration, and resource graphs — all from a browser. No SSH required for day-to-day management.
Yes — all game servers include Cosmic Guard DDoS mitigation. If you're targeting competitive or high-visibility communities that attract targeted attacks, mention it during signup and we'll make sure your configuration is appropriately hardened.
Dedicated & colocation
Dedicated & colocation
With dedicated servers, we own the hardware and you rent it — we handle racking, power, and connectivity. With colocation, you own the hardware and we provide the facility: rack space, power, cooling, and network connectivity. Colo gives you more control over your hardware; dedicated is simpler to get started with.
All colo footprints include rack space, 1 Gbps copper uplink (upgradeable to 10 Gbps on request), redundant power (A/B feeds on larger footprints), physical security, and facility access. Power is billed separately at local commercial rates — we pass through Albany, NY National Grid pricing with no markup.
Yes — remote hands is available as an add-on at $65/hr. This covers drive swaps, cable runs, power cycles, visual inspections, and other physical tasks. For emergency remote hands, we'll do our best to accommodate outside business hours. Complex work should be scoped in advance.
All dedicated servers include a 1 Gbps copper uplink with unmetered bandwidth. Upgrades to 10 Gbps are available on request. Private VLANs between your servers are available for multi-server deployments. Cross-connects to other tenants or upstream carriers are available as add-ons. Fiber uplinks are coming soon.
Support & policy
Support & policy
Existing customers can open tickets directly in the billing portal — this is the fastest path. You can also use the contact form, email support@spiralhosts.com, or join our Discord.
Tip: include your service hostname or IP, what you tried, and any error messages. It cuts response time significantly.
We aim to respond within 2 hours during US daytime (9 AM–9 PM ET). Most responses are faster. Down servers, network outages, and other critical issues are escalated immediately — 24/7 including weekends and holidays. We're a small team and you'll always talk to someone who actually runs the infrastructure.
Abuse reports: abuse@spiralhosts.com
DMCA takedown notices: dmca@spiralhosts.com
Include timestamps, involved IP addresses, logs or screenshots, and a clear description. Response time for legal requests is 1–3 business days. Mark urgent reports "URGENT" in the subject line.
Live uptime, active incidents, and maintenance windows are on our status page. We post incidents publicly before customers usually notice — you'll always know what's happening before you have to ask.
